Don’t sweat it. Natural deodorants got you covered

Sweating may sound/feel/look extremely gross, and we all know the horrible feeling of hoping to not run into anyone after a sweaty workout session because of the stench we’re undoubtedly giving off. But sweating is our bodies’ way of regulating temperature and releasing toxins, two very crucial jobs.

Antiperspirants and chemical-laden deodorants work to clog up pores and don’t allow the body to properly release the sweat necessary to cool down the body and release toxins (why they’re called antiperspirants). Not to mention that they’re completely unnecessary for preventing body odor. Continue reading Don’t sweat it. Natural deodorants got you covered

Solid Shampoo, Simply Better

There are many reasons why a natural, organic or vegan Solid Shampoo simply makes more sense. It is healthier for you and your hair. It is better for the environment by eliminating nasty chemicals which will end up in our water. It reduces waste, in particular plastic waste, which is a growing problem in our time. Solid Shampoo bars are great for travel as well, since you don’t have to worry about any potential for spillage or liquid restrictions.

The benefits of using a Solid Shampoo do not stop there. Solid Shampoo bars are super concentrated, so you can use less per application and they will last longer. Take a look at a bottle of shampoo in your bathroom or on the shelves in stores and the first ingredient you will see is water. The overall carbon footprint is less with shampoo bars. As mentioned, these solid bars are more concentrated, lightweight and compact than their bottled counterparts, so they require less space during transport relative to the same amount of washes with liquid shampoo. Roughly ten to fifteen transport trucks of liquid shampoo would be needed for one transport truck of solid shampoo bars to get the same number of washes! The many benefits of Hemp Soap

Today we take a look at some of the reasons why a Hemp Soap could be an invaluable asset when it comes to your daily care routine. Hemp seed oil has been used for centuries to treat a variety of skin conditions including eczema psoriasis, and acne, just to mention a few.

Oily, dry, or combination, whatever your skin type is, you can use hemp soap. That’s because the fatty acid profile of a Hemp Oil soap mimics that of our skin. It’s also a wonderful anti-aging product, capable of slowing down oxidation caused by free radicals.

But why should I use Hemp Soap?

If you’re someone who’s never tried any hemp skincare product before, we recommend starting with hemp soap like our Sativa Citrus Soap Bar. It’s a good way to experience all the benefits of hemp, without necessarily changing your daily routine. Continue reading The many benefits of Hemp Soap

Our hands age just as quickly as our faces, and what about the heavy use and exposure they endure throughout our lives. That is why we have developed Quincessentials Hand Balm. Alcohol based aftershave or After Shave Balm?

Those of you who use after shave may not know the difference between alcohol or alcohol free, but some knowledge of this may actually help you improve your shaving experience. By far the most popular post-shave solution is the alcohol-based after-shave or cologne. But did you know that the daily use of such products can dry out your skin and contribute to the acceleration of the ageing process?

There are two types of products when it comes to after-shaves. Alcohol-based ones, which are the most common and are usually called lotions or waters, and Alcohol-free ones, which are categorized as balms, gels or moisturizers. If you suffer from skin conditions such as acne and eczema, don’t use an Alcohol-based after shave. It will severely aggravate your skin condition and will sting like crazy.

But aren’t there any benefits to using a conventional after-shave?

The anti-septic qualities of alcohol are often quoted as a benefit of aftershave lotions, helping heal those little cuts that sometimes happen when you shave, but let’s face it in this day and age unless you’re shaving with a butcher’s knife, you shouldn’t be having cuts in your face from shaving. And if you use products with natural ingredients, like Calendula flower extract and Shea Butter you will benefit from the same anti-septic properties. Let’s talk about Intimate Wash

Women and girls like to talk about the latest beauty products, for our face and our body but not many discuss the intimate hygiene. It is extremely important to maintain personal and intimate hygiene, not just to stay clean and feel fresh, but to also prevent infections, bad odor, irritation, itching and other health hazards. While there are many chemical variants available, a good natural intimate wash is really all you need to cleanse the intimate areas.

Traditionally, soap and water are used to clean the intimate areas. Using soap to wash your intimate area is not recommended as it disrupts the natural vaginal flora, which will, in turn, allow the harmful bacteria to grow rapidly. Soap is made to maintain the pH level of the skin while an intimate wash respects the right pH levels for your intimate areas. Today, there are several types of natural intimate cleansing agents available on the market for women.

The Benefits of Body Scrubs

Here is some information on what a regular body scrub can do for the health and appearance of your skin. Using a body scrub regularly will help make your skin look more vibrant and youthful. Benefits of body scrubs through the removal of dead skin cells as a result of exfoliation with a mild body scrub extend to moisturizing as it allows for the easy absorption of a skin moisturizer into the healthy skin.

What is a body scrub

A scrub or body polish is a skin care routine which exfoliates the skin on your body leaving it feeling fresh, smooth, moisturized and soft. An abrasive product is rubbed and massaged across and into your skin, and is then rinsed away to reveal a moisturized layer of fresh, clean and smooth skin. Without regular exfoliation, you can end up with clogged pores, which block moisture from getting into the deeper layers. So to have the healthiest and smoothest skin possible, exfoliating is key.
